Nevertheless, this takes a lot of nerve and determination to create a masterpiece like Wrong Connection. Not because it's the adaptation of foreign play but because it flows in the opposite direction from the commercial Bengali cinema. Not following any trends and breaking away from all the rules, this film is not the usual movie with all the ingredients. It is rather a serious film about real people and their emotions. The shooting of this film has taken place in India and in U.S.A. simultaneously. The way the director has Indianised everything, is commendable. Besides, every performance is a masterstroke and that's what makes it stand apart in Bengali cinema. To add to it, certain scenes are executed brilliantly. And the turn of events in the second half definitely calls for applause. Wrong connection once again proves that Anjan Dutta is an excellent storyteller with equal command over techniques too. Each and every scene has been depicted genuinely. To sum it up, this is a brilliant film from the point of view of making an impact and is also accompanied with superior acts from all the actors.
