Katha

It is typically a personal film. This film is a product of personal political believes and ideal social thinkings of Director Sankha Ghosh. There is all the time unusual topics to his films that make the spectators have questions about the society they reside in. This film might not be one of his best works, but makes you look onward to his subsequent venture.

The central figure is Katha (Mrittika) is the mouthpiece of the Director. She here is the representative of the middle class family. She is in love with his brother’s friend, Manash (Indranil Banerjee), who is an ideal political leader. After sometime, an active clash has been developed between Manash and her brother. Manash by nature is an ideal persona, and he can protest and so the clash increased. But nobody can understand the feelings of Katha; she becomes disgusted and depressed in this circle.

On her 22 nd birthday party a physical relationship has been developed between Katha and Manash. And the touch of Manash gives her the birth of a profound thought and deeper meaning of life. Shortly after, she flees from her home of being shocked with the rumour that she is pregnant.
Then again, possibly it is the moment for us to start on improving our personal ethical agendas of the day.
The story is not intricate and remains easy, we discover the existence of others at the pointer; the culmination is unexpected and the film ends with no act.

On the whole, the location is down-to-earth, makeup is wonderful to make them appear cultural, and melody as a backdrop to scene is sufficient. Katha is someone’s dwelling, it’s a rigid actuality, mysterious, enlightening and value one watch.
