Kamarpukur, Jairambati
The reputation of Kamarpukur stems from the actuality that it is the inhabitant
village of Sri Ramkrishna. The yearly birth-day festivity of Sri Ramakrishna
is the prime fiesta of the community.
Tarakeswar
Tarakeswar is a prominent place of pilgrimage and
the greatest centre of the Shaiva cult in West Bengal. The most important
magnetism is the place of worship of Taraknath, an 'atchala' construction
with a 'natmandir' in front. Close by are the shrines of Kali and Lakshmi-Narayan.
Dudhpukur, a reservoir to the north of the
Shiva temple is thought to fulfil
the prayers of those taking a plunge in it.
Imambara
The famous Imambara at Hooghly was documented by Hazi Mohammad Mohsin
in 1836. The Imambara building having a stonework revetment is located
on the bank of river Ganges at Chinsurah. The two storied construction
consisting ranged rooms. A mosque, the fortifications of which are ornamented
by the texts from the Holy Koran
and
the heart of the mosque is enriched with inlaid granite and carlings,
candle and lanterns. At the south there is a together with this compound
where the graves of Md. Mohasin & his relations are present.
Serampore
Formerly recognized as Fedricnagar, Serampur was
the place of missionary movement from 1793 to 1834. It holds a significant
position in Bengal’s history. It was a Danish settlement till East India
Company took above in 1845. The house of the Danish Governor, the Roman
Catholic Church and St Olaf Churchstill stands here. There is also a
museum
in Serampur College with demonstrate about the missionaries, Dr Williams
Carey, Ward and Marshman and their activities. Sir William Carey recognized
a printing press here and the first dialect Bengali language newspaper
was in print from here. He also established the Serampore College in 1819.

The Rathayatra of Mahesh is one of the major festivals in the state.
Chinsurah
Chinsurah was a Dutch resolution from 1656 to 1825.
The town lies just west of the Hooghly River and is a chief road and rail
association. Rice milling and rubber-goods construct are the principal
industries.
Watch Tower
It is situated at the middle place of Chinsurah
town. The four faces of which indicate the directions. In 1914 'British'

Radhanagar

is worshipped on a daily basis till at present. The place of worship of
Radhakanta Jiu was erected in 1840 by Raja Sitanath Sarbadhikari. It was
renovated by Subol Sarbadhikari in 1981.
Radhanagar is also renowned as it is the native land of Raja Rammohun
Roy (1772-1833) who was a neighbor and a good family friend of Mathura
Mohan Sarbadhikari.
Pandua
Pandua is a census town in Hooghly region of West Bengal. It is a police
station in Chinsurah subdivision. Its distance is 61 km from Howrah and
21 km from Bandel on the Howrah-Bardhaman main line of Eastern Railway.
The position is famous for its Minar of 125 feet and the Bari Mosque.
Debanandapur
Debanandapur 5 km away from Bandel is well-known as it is the birth-place
of the renowned Bengali author, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. There is
a museum-cum-library where documents and additional things used by him
are reserved. Tribeni
Tribeni is 8 km away from Bandel on the Bandel-Katwa line. Tribeni Tissues
Limited, a paper manufacturing company and a chief provider of tissue
paper to the cigarette industry, is situated at Tribeni.
Sabuj
Dwip
Sabuj Dwip is a perfect go away for picnics at the time of winter. Here

Jagannath Temple, where the annual car festival is held in June / July
