Museum
This museum was established in 1878 on Jawaharlal Nehru Road. The museum
is built in Italian architectural fashion and is measured as the biggest
museum in the country and one of the most excellent in Asia. The largest
museum has six sections: Art, Archaeology, Anthropology, Geology, Zoology
and Industry. From the
Egyptian
mummy to the bones of the whale and some atypical statues; the museum

Eden
Garden
The gardens were fashioned in 1840 and named after the sister of Lord
Auckland, the previous governor general. The thought was to make a Biblical
- style Garden of Eden in India. The area dotted with attractive trees
and shrubs is intersected by zigzag paths, and there is a great artificial
lake. At the side of the gardens, is the
world
prominent Eden Gardens cricket stadium. The stadium is made-up to be the
largest in Asia with a seats capability of more than a lakh viewer. Here
International test & one day matches are held.
St
Paul's Cathedral
Built between 1839 and 1847, St Paul's Cathedral is one of India's the
majority significant churches. The steeple fell during an earthquake in
1897 and was redesigned and rebuilt. Inside there's a numeral gorgeous
memorials and discolored glass, together with the west window by Sir Edward
Burne-Jones.

of Fine Arts

This attractive, Asia’s largest and second largest in the world, 273 acre
park of lawns and woods, on the western bank of Hoogly, was founded in
1787 by Col. Alexander Kyd of the East India Company. There are more than
30,000 multiplicities of trees and plants.
High
Court
Built by Walter Granville in 1872 in Gothic Style is one of the oldest
courts in India is the marker of Calcutta. The court also has a tower,
which stands 60 meters tall.
Birla
Mandir
Situated on Ashutosh Chowdhury Avenue, it is the most recent adding up
to the places of visit in Calcutta. It took twenty-two years of sedulous

Fort
William
It is the Fortress of Calcutta. With the consent of the Nawab of Bengal,
this fortress was built between 1696 and 1702 by the British East India
Company and named after King William III of England. In 1756 the fort
was taken by the Nawab of Bengal, Siraj-ud-dullah. In 1757 East India
Company regained their power and demolished
this
fort and they started renovation of the fort. The new fort was finished
in 1773 and it is still there.
