to visit Uttarayan Complex
Shantiniketan is a University township and a centre of education. The
Uttarayan compound where the versifier lived consists of numerous buildings
such as Udayana. Konark, Shyamali, Punascha and Udichi which replicate
the architectural brilliance of the poet's memorable son the late Rathindranath
Tagore. The Shantiniketan university grounds of Viswa Bharati has grown-up
up to be a centre for knowledge with a prejudice towards art, melody and
humanities. The places of interest are mainly on the campus and have a
distinctive feature of some of the best in Indian art and culture.
Chhatimtala
Here Maharshi Devendranath, the father of Rabindranath Tagore, used to
contemplate. Prayers are held normally at Convocation time. Victorious

Park / Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary
Positioned at Ballavpur forest is 4 km from Shantiniketan. Black Buck,
spotted deer, jackals, foxes and a variety of water birds are found here.
