The film is located in modern India. Throughout the nine generations Eklavya’s family has protected the Kings of Devigarh. Serving the majestic family all his days, he becomes aged and sightless.The movie has an excellent cast in position, the topic looks work of fiction, and it seems akin to a film that has an International appeal.

The film sets up in a good manner with Amitabh Bachchan's recitation of 'The Legend of Eklavya' is well pronounced, brief and simple as the title role. In the first couple of minutes Rana Jaywardhan [Boman Irani], a pseudo ruler at Devigarh, is interpreting a verse from Shakespeare to his dying wife Rani [Sharmila Tagore].

Conspiracy builds up on Rani's final desires of seeing Eklavya [Amitabh Bachchan], the Royal Guard of Devigarh. Each of the members of the family, Jyotiwardhan [Jackie Shroff] (Rana's younger brother), Harshwardhan [Saif Ali Khan] (Rana's son), Nandini [Raima Sen] (Rana's daughter), Udaywardhan [Jimmy Shergill] (Jyoti's son) and Rajjo [Vidya Balan] and Harsh's infancy all are introduced in a moment. The film persists to be in motion as the suspicion approach is exposed at the conclusion of Jyoti and Uday. Draw attention to the outburst sight characterize the two with little Jimmy holding up radiantly in opposition to experienced person Jackie.
