The zodiacal sign of Virgo commences on August 21st, but for seven days, being overlapped by the "cusp" of the previous sign, it does not come into full power until on or about August 28th. From this date onwards it is in full strength until September 20th and then for seven days gradually loses its strength on account of being overlapped by the "cusp" of the incoming sign "Libra".
As the sign of the virgin, Virgos search for purity through cleanliness, good health, proper diet and exercise. They are sensitive, reserved, self-conscious, critical and fastidious. As they are ruled by inconstant Mercury, Virgos are prone to change whether it be through multiple residences, jobs or points of view. They are conscientious and methodical workers capable of functioning under any adversity and also make excellent secretaries, organisers and editors. Virgos can be very insecure and reserved, qualities which may be interpreted as lack of warmth and good will. They are usually materialistic in their views of life and analyse and reason everything from their own way of thinking outwards. They are inclined to become wrapped up in themselves and their own ideas and often become selfish in the close pursuit of their aims. They are more capable of going to extremes in good and evil. If they develop a love for money they will stick at nothing to acquire it, and this type is often considered cunning and crafty at the expense of others. They are fastidious about their personal appearance, have a great respect for rank and position and are great supporters of the law and the law's decisions. Because they are perfectionists, they are often dissatisfied and too critical of themselves as well as others. With difficult aspects, Virgos tend to have a pessimistic outlook on life spending too much time analysing and worrying which may adversely affect their health.
LOVE LIFE
In love they are the most difficult to understand. Their affectionate nature is very intense but not of the emotional, demonstrative order, but once their love is awakened they are extremely loyal but inclined to be jealous.
MATERIAL SUCCESS
In matters of finance this is a favourable part of the year to be born in. It gives good business ability, a careful frugal nature, not easily imposed on by others. They succeed well in business but more from their steady, industrious persistency than from evolving ideas.
